Juries are the guardians and conscience of our community.
Juries are the guardians and conscience of our community. One of my law professors used to say, “the bird does not eat the worm because it is right – the bird eats the worm because it can.” But we don’t live in Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, and we’re not some TV show on Animal Planet. We are, and live in, a society – a society of people – people who elect representatives – representatives who go to Washington or Austin and pass laws. Those laws are supposed to protect people – people just like you and me from all walks of life. But for many among us, those laws won’t mean anything, until a jury enforces them.
Whether you’re in downtown Dallas, the Fort Worth Stockyards, Mid-Cities or other suburbs, or out in the middle of nowhere like where I grew up, our employment, healthcare, roadway and workplace safety laws are supposed to protect you. If someone has violated those laws and you’ve been seriously harmed, contact me and let’s talk about giving a jury the opportunity to hold them accountable and help you recover what you’ve lost.
